Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minister described it as a Bihu gift for state employees and pensioners.

“We will pay the enhanced DA with last month’s salary, while the arrears will be paid with the salaries of April and May,” he said.

The development comes after the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the release of an additional installment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from January 1, 2025, representing an increase of two per cent over the existing rate of 53 per cent of the Basic Pay or Pension to compensate against price rise.
