Assam CM Expands His Cabinet With Four New Ministers Taking Oath

Four new ministers on Saturday took oath in Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma-led state cabinet. The Chief Minister now heads a 19-member council of ministers.

Four New Ministers Inducted Into Assam Cabinet

The new ministers include Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai, Patharkandi MLA Krishendu Paul and Doomdooma MLA Rupesh Goala.

The new ministers took their oaths at a ceremony held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati, attended by senior government officials and party leaders.

The cabinet reshuffle came after Tea Welfare and Labour Minister Sanjoy Kishan, who represents the Tinsukia constituency, tendered his resignation on Thursday.
