“The Justice Biplab Sarma Committee report has clearly outlined specific responsibilities for the state government, and we are fully committed to executing these duties promptly,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that the recommendations were divided into three parts: those to be implemented by the state, those requiring coordination between the Assam and Central governments and those solely for the Central government.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Assam government aims to implement 52 recommendations by April 2025, while the remaining 17 will be managed by the Central government.
“I will discuss this matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to ensure effective collaboration,” he said.
