Google has expanded its translation services by adding 110 new languages, including Cantonese, several African languages, and Khasi from Meghalaya.
Meghalaya’s Khasi Language Joins Google Translate
The inclusion of Khasi is expected to greatly enhance the experience of both national and international tourists visiting Meghalaya.
In a statement, Google mentioned that some of the new languages are major world languages spoken by over 100 million people. They noted that a few of these languages have almost no native speakers but are the focus of active revitalization efforts.
This update will play a crucial role in preserving and promoting lesser-known languages. For Meghalaya and other regions with newly added languages, this development could lead to improved cultural exchange. This could also help boost the local economy.
