Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari on Saturday announced the unanimous election of Sonia Gandhi as the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party.

“Sonia Gandhi ji has been unanimously elected as the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP),” Tiwari informed ANI.
At a meeting of party MPs, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge proposed Sonia Gandhi’s name as the chairperson of the parliamentary party, a move seconded by party leaders Gaurav Gogoi, Tariq Anwar, and K Sudhakaran.
The gathering witnessed the presence of several prominent Congress figures, including UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, and general secretary KC Venugopal.
In another significant decision earlier in the day, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) unanimously urged Rahul Gandhi to take on the mantle of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
