As the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam commenced on Friday, the voters came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise.
Women Voters Outnumber Men In All 5 Assam Lok Sabha Seats
Assam recorded an impressive voter turnout of 45.12% as of 1 pm. Female voters surpassed male voters across the five Lok Sabha constituencies of Sonitpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Kaziranga, and Lakhimpur.
From 5 am onwards, the female electorate was seen queuing up before polling stations. Most of these women showed up early in the polling stations so that they could return home and continue with their daily chores.
