The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expecting tough competition in only three constituencies out of the total 14 parliamentary seats in Assam in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

This was claimed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while speaking to the media on April 13.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the focus of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam will be on the Nagaon, Karimganj, and Dhubri constituencies.

He stated that the BJP anticipates little competition in the remaining Lok Sabha seats in Assam that go to polls soon.

The Chief Minister predicted tough contests in Nagaon, Karimganj, and Dhubri Lok Sabha seats from Assam.

“In my assessment, during the first phase, there are five Lok Sabha constituencies where there won’t be much competition,” he said.
