Jairam Ramesh’s remarks came amidst ongoing campaign activities and alleged obstacles faced by Congress candidates, especially in Assam.
Speaking about the campaign atmosphere, he said, “All the states of the Northeast have a strong undercurrent in the favor of the Congress. Our candidates are fighting strongly.”
Jairam Ramesh highlighted challenges, accusing certain state governments, particularly Assam, of creating hurdles in their campaign efforts.
He suggested that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s presence in Jorhat was due to apprehension regarding Congress candidate Gaurav Gogoi’s potential victory.
