Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has predicted that the Congress will lose its national party status following the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

While discussing the seat-sharing arrangement in Assam, CM Sarma said that the BJP-led NDA is expected to secure over 400 seats.
He remarked that the demoralization of Congress workers is inevitable and the party will lack national leadership.
As part of the seat-sharing arrangement, the saffron party will contest in 11 seats, while AGP and UPPL will contest in two seats and one seat respectively.
