The Mahashivaratri Puja and the historical Shivaratri Mela at the Shiva Dol temple in Sivasagar will be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at 5 pm on March 4.
Shivaratri Mela Is Held Every Year Inside Shiva Dol Temple On Occasion Of Mahashivaratri
The Shivaratri Mela is celebrated every year inside the Shiva Dol temple on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. This year the mela is set to commence from March 4 to 9.
Addressing the media inside the temple premises on February 24, Basanta Gogoi, general secretary of the Dol Unnayan Committee, said that the inaugural ceremony on March 4 will be attended by Assam Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Jogen Mohan, Jorhat MP Topon Kumar Gogoi, Rajya Sabha MP Pabitra Margherita and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi.
Like previous years, this year too, various cultural programmes have been organised in the temporary pandal at Dolmukh Chariali in line with the Sri Sri Mahashivratri Puja and Mela.
