The Guwahati Traffic Police on February 19 informed that sections of MG Road at Bhoothnath and Machkhowa will be blocked by the Public Works Department (PWD) due to ongoing construction of a new flyover.

The flyover is set to be inaugurated by the end of this month. To facilitate construction, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented, potentially leading to congestion.
The commuters are advised to take alternate route as far as possible. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Assam’s first six-lane extradosed bridge over the Brahmaputra River, connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati in the month of February 2019.
