The ranking system in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and the Higher Secondary (HS) examination results will cease to exist from this year.
This was informed by Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on February 8.
Assam: No More ‘Stand’ System In HSLC And HS Examination Results
Ranoj Pegu said that the ranking system will be removed from this year’s HSLC and HS examination results.
He added that the ranking system does not help and put additional pressure upon students while giving examinations.
It pressurises students to push for higher grades or opportunities, said Ranoj Pegu.
The Assam Education Minister further said that the ranking system also remains a discussion among families of students.
