Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 23 visited the affected families of Bocha Bharalua village in the Golaghat district, who lost their loved ones in a tragic bus mishap earlier this month.

As many as 14 people were killed, and 27 others were critically injured when a group of 45 picnic-goers collided with an oncoming coal-laden truck at Balijan near Dergaon.
During his visit to Golaghat, CM Sarma made it a point to meet the families of the deceased and extend his condolences personally. He also announced financial assistance packages of Rs 2 lakh each for the families.
The tragic bus mishap took place at around 4:30 am on National Highway 37 when the passenger bus crashed into an oncoming coal-laden truck.
