Addressing a press conference after a cabinet meeting on December 7, Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah said, “To commemorate the inauguration of Ram Temple, the Assam government has decided to declare January 22 as a dry day.”

This declaration was made by the Assam government as a mark of respect for the significant religious event. The ‘dry day’ signifies that the sale of alcohol will be prohibited on this day throughout the state.

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states, more than 6,000 people are scheduled to attend the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
