Heads of schools in Delhi were on November 8 told to inform parents immediately about the preponement of winter vacations as the air quality continued to deteriorate in the city for one week now.

“In view of air pollution, the December winter break of all schools has been rescheduled, now to be from November 9-18,” the Delhi education department said in a notice.
The decision was taken in the wake of the implementation of GRAP-IV measures due to severe air quality conditions prevailing in Delhi, the notification mentioned.
Further orders regarding the remaining days allocated for winter vacation will be released in due time, it added.
