Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 7 lauded India’s performance at the Asian Games in China’s Hangzhou as it clinched a historic 100 medals.

Congratulating the athletes who brought laurels to India, PM Modi said their performance at the 19th Asian Games was awe-inspiring.
“A momentous achievement for India at the Asian Games! The people of India are thrilled that we have reached a remarkable milestone of 100 medals. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our phenomenal athletes whose efforts have led to this historic milestone for India,” he said in a tweet.
PM Modi further said he looked forward to hosting the Asian Games contingent on October 10, where he will interact with the athletes. In the 2018 Asian Games, India clinched a total of 70 medals in Jakarta-Palembang.
