The development comes hours after India issued an advisory for Indian nationals and students living in Canada.

The advisory urged them to “exercise utmost caution” in view of “growing anti-India activities and politically-condoned hate crimes and violence in Canada”.

India’s warning followed Canada’s advisory to its nationals in India. The Canadian government on September 19 urged its nationals to “observe a high degree of caution”.

The diplomatic clash between India and Canada began on September 19 after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged that Canadian security agencies had “credible evidence” that agents of Indian government had “potential links” to the killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijaar on June 18.
