Assam Gets 4 New Districts, Announces CM Sarma

During a cabinet briefing on August 25, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the formation of four new districts. The Chief Minister announced this decision after chairing the 100th meeting of the state cabinet.

4 New Districts Created In Assam

This decision marks a foresighted step towards reshaping the regional landscape of the state.

Following a meticulous delimitation process, the newly formed districts, Hojai, Biswanath, Tamulpur, and Bajali, have been created.

“We have reconstituted the four new districts, and it is co-terminus with assembly constituencies declared by the Election Commission under delimitation,” the Chief Minister said.

“These changes are part of a strategic plan to enhance governance efficiency and bring public services closer to the citizens,” he added.
