Pragyan rover has rolled out from Vikram lander, said Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on August 24.

India Took Walk On Moon, Says ISRO

The ISRO asserted India took a walk on the Moon moments after the rover touched the surface of the south pole of the Moon.

“Chandrayaan-3 ROVER: Made in India, Made for the MOON! The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon! More updates soon,” posted ISRO on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“First photo of Rover coming out of the lander on the ramp,” posted Pawan K Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe on X.

Soon after Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in South Africa, dialled the space agency chief S. Somanath and congratulated him and his team.

Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission, successfully landed on the surface of the Moon at 6:04 pm on August 23.
