After locking down the police station, the mob reportedly placed sandbags at the entrance of the police station. However, the situation was brought under control soon after senior state police officials pacified the mob.

The mob issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the police administration in Thoubal district, demanding withdrawal of the cop’s suspension order.

They said that it was beyond his control to manage the mob since there was a total breakdown of law and order on May 3 and 4 in the district.
