The decision comes after Union Home Minister Amit Shah presided over a meeting involving all political parties to address the current situation in the Northeastern state.

The Army successfully resolved a standoff with a mob led by women. Security forces cordoned off the Itham village in Imphal East where members of the KYKL militant group were hiding.

After seizing weapons and ammunition, the Army concluded the situation without any casualties. The Union Home Minister informed the attendees that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been closely monitoring the situation in Manipur.

Amit Shah further said that the condition in the northeastern state was gradually improving and that no fatalities had occurred since June 13 as a result of the violence.
