President Draupadi Murmu is likely to be the chief guest at the 21st convocation ceremony of Tezpur University, varsity officials stated.
Murmu Likely To Be Chief Guest At Tezpur University Convocation
Notably, the 21st convocation of the University will be held in the last week of December. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh recently called on Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Prof. Singh invited Murmu to the convocation ceremony during the meeting, said an official statement. Murmu has accepted the invitation and expressed her willingness to visit the University.
Prof. Singh also presented an overview of the University during the meeting, including its various activities, and its efforts in creating a vibrant ecosystem for students, researchers, and academicians.
Tezpur University was awarded the prestigious Visitor’s Award in 2016 and three faculty members won Visitor’s Award in the Research category for their incredible work.
Murmu appreciated the efforts of the University in providing a conducive environment for holistic education for all. She urged all stakeholders to work hard, the statement added.
