Assam: Husband Of ‘Murdered’ BJP Leader Jonali Nath Files FIR Against IGP Debraj Upadhaya

Chandra Kumar Nath, the husband of the deceased Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jonali Nath, has filed an FIR against Inspector General of Police (IGP) Debraj Upadhaya.

Jonali Nath’s Husband Files Case Against IGP

Chandra Kumar Nath lodged the FIR against the IGP on the remarks made by him through press conference. The FIR was lodged at the Matia Police Station in Goalpara district.

IGP Debraj Upadhaya said that the accused Hasanur Islam ”confessed to killing Jonali Nath and dumping her body on the national highway”. ”The victim had an illicit relationship with the accused, who was supposed to get married to another woman,” the IGP further said.

The mobile phone of the deceased was recovered from behind the residence of the accused, Hasanur Islam. Jonali Nath was the Goalpara district secretary of the Assam BJP. Her body was recovered from the national highway 17 at Krishnai in the Goalpara district.
