Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader in Assam has been summoned by the Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell in connection with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) scam, reports emerged on May 31.

Notably, the AAP leader has been identified as Bidyut Kalita, a resident of Mirza. Kalita is alleged to have been involved in the SCERT scam.
According to sources, the AAP leader is absconding over fear of arrest in connection with the scam. A letter has emerged in which the leader requested a two-day extension after he was summoned by the CM’s Special Vigilance Cell citing he was out of town at the time when the summon notice was delivered to his residence.
Four people including two journalists and two Right to Information (RTI) employees were arrested by the cell in connection with the scam. Those arrested were identified as Pujamoni Das and Bhaskarjyoti Hazarika, journalists and Rabijit Gogoi and Anup Saikia, RTI employees.
