Wildlife Crime: Suspected Poacher Killed In Assam-Arunachal Pradesh Border

A suspected poacher was shot dead during an exchange of fire with forest personnel on Saturday night. Poaching has become a significant existential threat to wild organisms.

Notably, the incident was reported at Safapani locality in the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. The deceased has been identified as Puneswar Sargiary.

Reportedly, the forest personnel has seized various objectionable items and tree cutting machines from his possession.

The body of the deceased was sent for post mortem. It’s high time to stop illegal wildlife trade, including poaching and animal trafficking.
