Moral Policing: 2 Young Women Harassed In Barpeta, Assam

Two young women were harassed in an incident of moral policing by a group of people near the bridge of the Beki river in Barpeta.

It is noted the two women were accused of carrying out immoral acts at a nearby dhaba. The women were dragged out of the dhaba.

They were even beaten by the mob. The group of people then proceeded to break into the dhaba and ransack the premises.

The two women were saved due to the promptness of a few youths. The women were later handed over to Barpeta Road police.

One of the young women hails from Rangia and and other from Pathshala. People are waiting for what action the police will take against those who were involved in moral policing.
