The Gauhati High Court has directed the Government of Assam to arrange drinking water for all the people who have been shifted to shelter homes due to the evictions.

The Gauhati High Court directed the state government to make this arrangement immediately. The court also asked the state government to provide the exact number of shelter camps.
The court also directed the state government to submit an affidavit with all the necessary details to be submitted within ten days.
It is mentioned senior Advocate BD Konwar inspected the site of the temporary shelter at Changmaji Gaon. BD Konwar submitted a detailed inspection prepared by him after the visit.
The report mentioned the lack of proper drinking water facilities in the camp. Therefore, the Government of Assam has been ordered to set up a properly filtered water supply there.
