E-Court Projects To Make Indian Judiciary Fully Digital And Paperless: Kiren Rijiju

Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Law and Justice, said that the Union Budget allocated projects worth Rs 7,000 crore for the e-Court projects. Kiren Rijiju hoped that the e-Court projects would make the Indian judiciary fully digital and paperless.

Kiren Rijiju, while speaking at the Platinum Jubilee function of the Gauhati Court that completed 75 years of its glorious presence, said, ”The challenge before the Gauhati High Court is huge because of the varied customary laws, traditional practises, and diversities in the Northeastern region.”

”The Gauhati Court has all along struck a balance amidst the diversities. The Government of India is committed to ensuring the rule of law in the country,” Kiren Rijiju further added.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, ”The Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the Gauhati High Court is a historic occasion in the judicial history of the Northeast. On this glorious occasion, I recall with veneration all the proponents whose dedicated approach led to the establishment of this great institution of law. The unique and unparalleled tradition of this institution was set and nurtured by many eminent judges and legal experts.”
