Responding to the cut motion in the Assembly, Ajanta Neog said so. The Assembly witnessed a heated exchange during the cut motion.

In this regard, independent MLA Akhil Gogoi said, ”The government sanctioned fewer model anganwadi centres in the constituencies held by opposition MLAs than those held by legislators of the ruling party.”

Ajanta Neog further added, “We did draw a roadmap to take the department forward in the last two years. The state has around 61,000 anganwadi centres with very poor infrastructure. The State Government took the decision to develop its infrastructure in phases. In phase 1, we constructed 1,000 model anganwadi centres. I felt that the construction of the 1,000 anganwadi centres was smooth. I don’t know if anywhere in the country model anganwadi centres are being constructed so smoothly.”
