Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has announced that his government is planning to create a new film policy to encourage the shooting of films in the state. The Chief Minister mentioned about this project while presenting the first budget under the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance 2.
Meghalaya To Implement New Film Policy
It aims to strengthen the indigenous film industry of Meghalaya. The Chief Minister further added that the government is working towards building a new OTT platform named Hello Meghalaya.
Hello Meghalaya will host local contents and create avenues for income generation for the local artists. It is noted an amount of Rs 15 crore is budgeting to support these initiatives for 2023-24.
”Art, crafts and music will continue to remain powerful tools to engage the youth of the state. The Meghalaya Grassroots Music Program has given a platform for more than 500 local artists since its implementation,” the Chief Minister continued.
