Security Arrangements Tightened In And Around Dibrugarh Central Jail; Read To Know Why

Security arrangements have been tightened in and around Dibrugarh Central Jail. It is noted the arrangements include deployment of Assam Police commandos, to foil any possible security breach by the close aides of Amritpal Singh.

Security Tightened At Dibrugarh Central Jail

The Dibrugarh Central Jail is the oldest jail in the North-east region. The Central Jail was used to keep many top leaders of United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (Ulfa-I).

On March 20, IGP (law and order) Prashant Kumar Bhuyan took stock of the security arrangements at the Central Jail. Notably, six close aides of Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh are lodged in the jail.

Four aides of Amritpal Singh, Daljit Singh Kalsi, Bhagawant Singh, Gurmeet Singh and Pradhanmatri Bajeka were brought to the Central Jail by a team of 27 Punjab Police personnel, including the IG prison on March 19.
