Punjab Extends Suspension Of Mobile Internet Services Till March 21; Read To Know Why

Punjab on March 20 extended the suspension of mobile internet services till March 21. Notably, the news comes hours after Punjab Police stated Amritpal Singh‘s uncle and his driver turned themselves in to them on March 19.

”All mobile internet services, all SMS services (except banking and mobile recharge), and all dongle services provided on mobile networks, except the voice call, have been suspended until March 21 (12:00 hours) in the interest of public safety, ” said a statement from the Punjab Government’s department of home affairs and justice.

According to Punjab Police, Amritpal Singh, the leader of Waris Punjab De, was still on the run. Amritpal Singh was not arrested, contrary to what his attorney stated on March 19.

According to an order issued by the additional chief secretary of the home department, the broadband services are not being suspended so that banking facilities, hospital services and other essential services are not disrupted.
