Apurna Narzary is from Kokrajhar. As per the inputs, she was overwhelmed when head coach Maymol Rocky stated that she will be captaining the squad in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 1 encounter.
It is noted she was the first woman to share the experience. “I could not believe my ears for a little while. For me, that was a great honour. When Maymol Madam informed me of my appointment, I felt proud. At the same time, I immediately thought that it was a tremendous responsibility and that we should do everything in our power to advance to the next round,” Apurna Narzary stated.
