On March 6, a teacher was taken into custody in Dhubri during a campaign against child marriage. The teacher has been identified as Nasiruddin Sheikh. He worked as a teacher in Tamarhat’s Hatidhura Senior Secondary School.
Teacher Gets Arrested In Dhubri
Nasiruddin Sheikh is currently under the custody of the Tamarhat Police. Further details are awaited. The accused was known as the Qazi, however, he worked as a middleman to do the paperwork on the behalf of the bride and the groom.
It is mentioned the Gauhati High Court granted pre-arrest bail to nine of the people who were prosecuted under the POSCO Act on February 14.
Furthermore, the justice bench stated, “If marriages are occurring against the law, the law will follow its own path.”
