Over 18 Bangladeshi citizens were detained by the Maharashtra Police on March 4 for staying illegally in Thane.

“The Police were tipped off that some Bangladeshi nationals would congregate to celebrate one of them’s wedding anniversary at a building in Navi Mumbai’s Ghansoli neighbourhood,” stated the Rabale Police Station official.

It is mentioned the criminal division of the Navi Mumbai Police conducted a night-time raid. Mumbai Police made the arrests on March 1 and 2.

”An offence was registered against them under the Foreigners Act of 1946 and the Passport (Entry into India) Rules of 1950, and an investigation is currently underway,” he further added.
