Tea Worker Killed, Four Injured In Elephant Attack In Nagaon, Assam

A wild elephant on March 3 entered into a tea estate in Nagaon, killing one tea worker and injuring at least four others. Notably, the incident has been reported from the Hatigaon Tea Estate, Kaliabor.

As per the reports, Laxman Minj, one of the labourers, died during the incident, while four others were injured. Prakash Ekka, Pratap Ekka, Dhiraj Tirki, and Shani Kerketa were sent to a hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, a team of forest officials arrived at the spot. The wild elephant wandered into the tea estate in quest of food, said the authorities.

Another tragic incident had been reported from Balipara’s Chariduar Village in Sonitpur. A man was killed at Cotton Mill when he went to feed the elephant a banana.
