It needs to be mentioned Nirmala Sitharaman met several Sikkim businesses that had put up special shops for her.

The Finance Minister stated, ”Sikkim is an understated state where a lot of work is being done covertly without making a fuss.”

“I observed a lot of locally owned small businesses that are focused on serving the needs of the community and do not care where the raw materials are sourced. The outstanding products on exhibit are a direct result of these businesses producing their own raw materials,” the Minister added.

Furthermore, the Finance Minister took part in a NABARD outreach event that was attended by Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay and several other dignitaries.

“I noted that Sikkim has a substantial amount of female participation in economic endeavours and self-help groups, which is admirable,” the Minister remarked.
