Police Seize Burmese Supari Worth Rs 20 Lakh In Hailakandi, Assam

Police seize 104 sacks of Burmese supari in Bilaipur village in Hailkandi district on February 25. It is noted Police seize the sacks of Burmese supari in a search of the warehouse of Nizam Uddin Laskar.

As per the inputs, Nizam Uddin Laskar has a very long history of smuggling Burmese supari out of his godown and into various areas of Hailakandi.

Police took the sacks of Burmese supari from his godown. It is mentioned Nizam Uddin has been hiding away from the situation.

In this regard, Bidyut Das, Hailakandi Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) stated that the confiscated Burmese supari would have a market value of about Rs 20 lakh.

“We have taken action in this regard by filing a complaint and seizing the Burmese supari. But no one has been detained in this matter, and we’re still hunting for the individual who kept the Burmese supari at Nizam Uddin’s warehouse,” the Police official further added.
