Tirupati Temple To Set Up Facial Recognition System For Devotees From March 1

The Tirumala Tiurpathi Devastanams (TTD) announced that the authority has decided to set up facial recognition system for devotees from March 1, 2023. It is mentioned the initiative will make the darshan process more efficient.

Moreover, the pilgrims at Tirupati’s world famous Lord Venkateswar temple can now be identified through a facial recognition system. Notably, the temple is located in Andhra Pradesh.

The new facial recognition software will be installed on an experimental basis. The TTD updated about the same in its official website. It is noted the TTD is an individual trust that looks after the management of the temple.

“TTD set to introduce Facial Recognition Technology on an experimental basis at Vaikuntham 2 and AMS systems from March 1 onwards. The idea is to enhance transparency in tokenless darshan and Accommodation allotment systems providing more effective services to the multitude of visiting pilgrims,” the notice further added.
