The current Superintendent of Police (SP) in Lakhimpur, Anand Mishra has tendered his unconditional resignation from the Indian Police Service (IPS) on December 26.

Belonging to the Assam-Meghalaya Cadre (2011 RR Batch), Anand Mishra submitted his unconditional resignation from IPS, effective January 16, 2024.
In a letter addressed to the chief secretary, SP Mishra expressed his decision to resign from IPS to embark on a life dedicated to freedom and independence, pursuing various “social services and other means” beyond the mandate of IPS.
Anand Mishra has been a prominent figure in Assam known for his commitment to maintaining law and order, friendly policing and methods of combating drug-related issues, cattle smuggling, and robberies.
