External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on November 25 spoke about the Indian strategic thought and a political rebalancing in the world.
Western Powers Have Been Globally Dominant For Over 300 Years: S. Jaishankar
Addressing the International Relations Conference 2023 in Pune, S. Jaishankar spoke on why the world needed Indian strategic thought.
“This year, we went through the G20, which is a statement of rebalancing. Around 15 years ago, when there was a global financial crisis, the G7 could not handle the problems by themselves and then they got in other countries, including us, China and a few others,” S. Jaishankar said. “And so the G7, though it still exists, got replaced by the G20,” he added.
“It spoke about the economic rebalancing in the world. Over the years there has also been a political rebalancing in the world. If you look at the big political discussions and debates, many more countries participate and shape them than perhaps they did a few decades ago,” S. Jaishankar said.
