The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in the Northeastern states of Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya over the next few days.
Cyclone Hamoon
The IMD informed that the severe cyclonic storm Hamoon intensified into VSCS about 290 km east of Paradip (Odisha), 270 km southeast of Digha (West Bengal), 230 km south-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh).
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over the region on October 25. Rainfall intensity will decrease on October 26 with light to moderate rainfall at a few places over the region.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places over south Assam and eastern Meghalaya on October 25 with isolated heavy rainfall over south Assam.
