Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 18 said he was “deeply shocked” over the blast at a hospital in Gaza and said “those involved should be held responsible”.

“Deeply shocked at the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and prayers for speedy recovery of those injured,” PM Modi wrote on X platform.
“Civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern. Those involved should be held responsible,” he added.
At least 500 people were killed in a massive blast at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City on October 17. Hamas claimed that the blast was a result of an air strike by the Israeli army. Nevertheless, the Israel Defense Forces stated that they have no connection with the incident and said the blast took place due to a missile misfire by a Palestinian armed group, Islamic Jihad.
