Assam: CM Sarma Inaugurates High Performance Sports Training And Rehabilition Centre In Jorhat

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on October 12 inaugurated the first-of-its-kind High Performance Sports Training and Rehabilitation Centre in Jorhat.

Centre To Provide Support For Athletes Of Assam Through Scientific Assessment, Physiotherapy And Rehabilitation

The sports training and rehabilitation centre was constructed at the cost of Rs 23.78 crore at Jorhat Stadium with a joint initiative of the Assam government, Abhinav Futuristics, OIL and NRL.

The centre will provide support for athletes of Assam through scientific assessment, physiotherapy and rehabilitation. It will help in training of athletes to ensure their physical and mental well-being.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sarma said that the sports training centre will be the latest addition to building high-quality sports infrastructure in the state.

Earlier on March 30, the Assam government signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with at least three companies to establish high performance sports training and rehabilitation centres in two cities of the state.
