Fresh violence erupted in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Wednesday night after two houses were torched by miscreants.

As per sources, apart from setting the houses on fire, several rounds of bullets were also fired by unidentified miscreants.
According to the Police, the incident occurred in New Keithelmanbi in Patsoi Police Station area around 10 pm on Wednesday.
The miscreants fled from the spot, triggering tension in the area. The Police added that a mob of Meitei women gathered in the area following the incident but were prevented by the security forces from proceeding further.
Additional security has been deployed and the situation is under control, the Police informed.
