Assam: PM Modi Virtually Lays Foundation Stone For Redevelopment Of 32 Railway stations

The foundation stone laying ceremony for the redevelopment of railway stations in Assam has been held under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on August 6 in Guwahati’s Narengi.

The state will witness the revamping of 32 railway stations with a budget of Rs 990 crore. The railway stations will be equipped with digital signages, lifts, escalators, CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi, and other passenger-friendly features.

Moreover, the stations will have improved lighting, landscaping, and parking facilities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

“The redevelopment will revolutionise how rail infrastructure is imagined in our nation. It will boost ‘Ease of Living’ and enhance comfort as well as convenience. Special care has been taken to ensure the stations are in line with local culture, heritage, and architecture,” the Prime Minister said.
