Assam: Kamalabari-Nimati Ghat Ferry Services Temporarily Suspended Due To Rising Water Level

The Inland Water Transport Department has announced the temporary closure of the ferry services between Kamalabari in Majuli and Nimati Ghat in Jorhat in light of the rising water level in the Brahmaputra River.

The decision to suspend the services comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the public. The Gutia ferry service, which operates in the middle of Aphalamukh and Nimati Ghat, has been halted.

The administration has ordered suspension of all the ferry services between Kamalabari and Nimati Ghat in view of increasing water level induced by the heavy shower.

In addition, passengers are advised to seek alternative transportation arrangements until the ferry services can resume.
