All schools in Haflong, Harangajao, Mahur, and other landslide-prone districts of the Dima Hasao District will be closed for five days, according to a notice published by the Office of the Inspector of Schools on June 12.

The Government of Assam has taken the decision to reduce any potential concerns that may develop owing to the bad weather conditions with the wellbeing of students in mind. The five-day closure began on June 13.
The decision to close the schools is intended to ensure the safety of the children, teachers, and staff. The authorities intend to promote a secure atmosphere for all educational institutions.
The Office of the Inspector of Schools suggested that parents and children keep up with weather reports and adhere to any directions issued by the relevant authorities.
