The Government of Assam has announced that it will provide Rs 25,000 to each of the Bihu performers who participated in a historic event in Guwahati on June 28 and 29.

Cabinet Ministers To Personally Travel To Districts To Present Cash Prizes To Artists

The historic event took place on April 13. It aimed to set a Guinness World Record for “The largest Bihu performance in a single venue.”

A total of 11,304 Bihu dancers and 2,548 drummers will receive the cash prize along with a digital certificate.

Cabinet minister Jayanta Mallabaruah shared this information, stating that the government is fulfilling its promise to reward the participants who came to Sarusajai Stadium for the Guinness World Record.

Further, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned that the cabinet ministers will personally travel to districts to present the cash prizes to the artists, and he himself plans to felicitate performers in at least five districts.

”Those participants who came to Sarusajai Stadium to participate in the Bihu Guinness World Record will get a sum of Rs 25,000 amount as promised. Also, they will receive a digital certificate. The cabinet ministers will travel to the districts to award cash prizes to the artists. I will also personally go to at least five districts to felicitate the performers,” Sarma informed.
