Assam Police released two helpline numbers for citizens of the state stranded in violence ravaged Manipur. The helpline numbers are: 1079 and 1070.

Reportedly, a special team of police officials are monitoring the situation and will provide all possible help regarding the same.
It may be noted another team of officials travelled to Manipur three days ago. Several states are evacuating their citizens from the violence-hit Manipur.
The situation has largely been brought under control in the state due to efforts of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles. It is mentioned tribals and non-tribals clashed over the granting of Scheduled Tribe status to the majority Meitei community.
Earlier, Olympic medalist Mary Kom took to Twitter to write, ”My state Manipur is burning, kindly help”, requesting immediate action from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. As many as 4,000 villagers were taken to shelters in Army-run and state government-owned premises.
